Publication Abstract

"Long-lead Streamflow Forecast for the Columbia River Basin for 2003-2004"

Hamlet, A. F. 2003. "Long-lead Streamflow Forecast for the Columbia River Basin for 2003-2004". Presented September 16, 2003 at the Climate Impact Group's Idaho Climate and Water Resource Forecast meeting for the 2004 water year, Idaho Department of Water Resources, Boise, Idaho.

Long-lead climate-based streamflow forecasts provide resource managers the opportunity to consider how interannual variations in Pacific Northwest climate may affect regional water resources and management objectives. This presentation provides an overview of the hydroclimatology of the Columbia River basin, a review of the 2003 water year forecast, and the 2004 water year streamflow forecast for the Columbia River and Snake River basins. The presentation was given on September 16, 2003 at the CIG's annual fall forecast meeting at the Idaho Department of Water Resources.
