Abstract

A research-management partnership is working to develop management options for adapting to climate change on Olympic National Forest (ONF) in northwest Washington state—the first step in moving towards implementation of climate change in large-scale management and planning. This effort has changed the context for management on ONF, raised awareness of the effects of a major extrinsic factor on resource objectives, and generated enthusiasm on national forests in the Pacific Northwest regarding adaptation to climate change.
